| Fast
ForWord is the first scientifically
proven training program to help children (ages 4 to12) with language-learning
impairments rapidly enhance their language skills.
Fast ForWord is an intensive
language training program aimed at improving language. Specifically
the areas of rate processing, phonology, morphology, syntax and
grammar.
Skills
are taught using CD-ROM
exercises and the Internet. Programs are 6-8 weeks long, 2 hours
per day, 5 days a week. After the training, language-learning
impaired children show improvement equivalent to one and a half
years in speech processing and language ability.
Assessments
are available to determine a child's eligibility to benefit from
this program.
